Most fixed IP cameras draw around 4–7 W (PoE, 802.3af); PTZ and heated or IR cameras can draw 15–30 W (PoE+, 802.3at). As a rule of thumb, add up the wattage of every camera and leave 20–30% headroom, then pick a switch whose total PoE budget comfortably exceeds that figure. Port count should match your camera count plus an uplink. Our upcoming range is being designed around exactly these real-world installer requirements — register your interest and we will share a simple PoE-budget guide and the model line-up as it launches.
