There are two ways in. As a user, you do not apply: install a PM-WANI app from a registered App Provider, sign in with your mobile number and OTP, and connect at any PM-WANI hotspot. If you want to run a hotspot from your shop or premises, you become a Public Data Office (PDO) under a PDO Aggregator such as Immunity. Send us your details and we will guide you.
Under the DoT PM-WANI framework a PDO needs no licence, no registration with DoT and pays no fee to DoT. Any shop or establishment with space for an access point and a broadband backhaul can become a PDO by tying up with a PDO Aggregator.
PM-WANI is a public Wi-Fi framework, not a home broadband plan. You can use any PM-WANI hotspot near your home through a PM-WANI app, or, if you run a shop or premises, set up a hotspot there as a PDO and offer Wi-Fi to the public.
Open a PM-WANI app from a registered App Provider. The app lists nearby PM-WANI hotspots and lets you choose a plan offered by that hotspot's PDO.
